Before I get into this weeks post, I want to take a minute a say that my prayers are with the people of France. The devastating terrorists attacks on Paris rocked the world to its core! But it also shows the humanity we all feel for one another. We shed tears for perfect strangers, we send money in hopes of rebuilding places we have never visited but MOST of all.....we send LOVE for one another REGARDLESS of religion, beliefs, color or backgrounds. PARIS GOD BE WITH YOU. AND GIVE THOSE STRENGTH TO THOSE WHO WERE INJURIED AND GIVE THE FAMILIES WHO LOST LOVED ONES ENCOURAGEMENT TO FIND SOME KIND OF PEACE IN THEIR TIME OF SORROW.
Now, I live in Texas and we had a very rough night. What I mean by that is...we were awaken about 3:00am to the Tornado sirens going off. Two tornado's were reported as hitting our area. Not large tornados but they still did a lot of damage.
I was on my lunch break today and decided to take a ride to a local cemetery where I had heard had a lot of damage. Well, a lot of damage doesn't cover it!!! It was almost completely wiped out!!! I could not believe how bad it looked.....and how sad it felt. I could not help it....I felt COMPELLED to help. I went back to my off which is very close to the cemetery and ask my General Manager if we could go to the cemetery and start clean up right away! He got a crew together (I work for a Water Dept. in the daytime. LOL) and drove down to the cemetery. So, with my brand new high heels, black slacks and a beautiful white silk shirt on....I got out and started pulling limbs off tombstones as well as did the crew from LCMUA. I just felt not only is this is my community and I want to help, but as much as CEMETERIES have done for me this is the least I could do in return. It only seemed right.
Now, I'm sure your asking yourself what does that have to do with the paranormal? As I was pulling limbs across the cemetery, my heels sinking in the mud with every step, my black slacks now brown...covered in mud and leafs, I was looking around at all the damage and I began to wonder.....are the spirits upset with what has happened to their final resting places? Yes, I know that their souls are not really there and that the resting place is more for the living than the dead. I can't help but feel that they are sad for their loved ones NOT for the actual resting place with their name on it but for the loved ones who feel sadness because it was destroyed.
This is not the same as a spirit who gets upset when someone moves into their home and starts changing things or remodeling. The reason is...because the person was LIVING at the time....in the house and when they die they are placed in a place they had never spent time. Does that make sense???
Anyway, spirits are always around us and today I hope they saw me giving back for everything they have gave me. :)
Below are some of the pictures I took today at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas. The pictures really don't show how bad it really was.
