HAUNTED OAKWOOD CEMETERY-AUSTIN,TX 2013-DAYTIME PHOTOS

I am not sure but I think this is Russian.  Lots of the
graves are engraved this way.

A lot of our night time activity was over this
grave.  I have never seen one of these before where the Mother
and Father are buried at the top and the bottom half is a infant daughter.

Very unusual.

So sad.

Just sad to me...
Could this be a relative of the descendants of
the very haunted DRISKEL HOTEL in Austin?

Unknown soldiers markers.
Trying to keep it together.

Inside the tomb, husband and wife.

Just creepy

More unusual markers.

Notice the fancy initials on the marker.

Some headstones are completely concerted around.
I have never seen these kinds of  markers either.
The have fancy initials on the end.  Some of these kind of markers
even have been concerted all around them.

Stated on the marker, HUSBAND OF ONE MONTH

The fence divides the rich from the poor.

It appears that people from Poland and Russia
are separated from the rest of the cemetery.
Unusual markers.

I know I look like the size of a barn but I
was cold so I had great big sweats on.  NO COMMENTS
PLEASE!!! LOL

Yes.....that is me talking to the dead.
All shapes and sizes in this cemetery.

There is just something eerie to me to see
this marker of a young girl named "ALICE".

Unknown soldiers graves lie just inside the
cemetery.  All the markers say is "U.S. Solider"

Again, in great need of some TLC.

I have never seen tombstones laid like this.

Graves above the ground in great ruins.

The Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Tx is most definitely and interesting place!  I could spend hours here.  The cemetery is actually covers over 40 acres with 23,000 graves!  If you get the chance go check it out.  But let me warn you, it is definitely locked at night and people are watching this place.  You can walk around the fence at night and take pictures.

Be sure to check out my NIGHT TIME pics  posted just after this one.

  1. Is this place really haunted? Do you mean ghosts are watching at night?

  3. Hi Mike. I do believe the cemetery is haunted. There are so many stories about it and I have to believe SOME of them to be true. We captured some really great photos but we were not able to get inside the cemetery during the night.

  4. Ms. Becky,
I sam pretty sure that the headstone you say is written in Russian is actually Hebrew.

  5. Ms. Becky,
The headstone you said that is written in Russian is actually written in Hebrew. The cemetery is also called Beth Israel which most likely leans to the Jewish/Hebrew decent.
