Ghost hunting equipment/ LCPI update

Ok. So everyone is always wanting to know what kind of equipment they should have.  First let me say you DON'T have to spend a lot of money to invest in some really fun equipment to help you on your hunt.  I have listed below some of the basic inexpensive equipment you can use.   (this is for my Uncle Steve who is dying to go out on a hunt!  Now, if he can just talk my aunt into it.lol)

Digital video recorder: DVRs have gotten fabulous in the last few years and there are dozens out there to choose from. Buy quality, because your digital video recorder is one of your primary tools.

Digital Still Camera: It’s all about the Megapixles! – The higher the resolution the more you will be able to zoom in later on when you are analyzing your photos in Photoshop.  I would use no less than a 7.5 megapixle.

Flash Lights: Obviously, this is a no brainer. If you haven’t already moved up to a modern LED flashlight now is a good time. Battery life is much longer, the LED bulbs are almost unbreakable, and they often allow for different colors of light and intensity. However, no matter how good your primary flashlight is every other team member should carry a back up light.

EMF Detector: EMF Detectors pick up electronic fields at a variety of frequencies. Usually, where there are ghosts there are disruptions in the electronic magnetic field. This is one piece of equipment that every ghost hunting expedition should have and they are fairly cheap. Anywhere from $60 and on up.  But the one I have posted a picture of is called a K-2.  This is a lot of fun and definitely a way to communicate with spirits.

This was my first EMF meter.  Very easy to use and only about $15.  If you are just starting out and experimenting, give this one a try.
That should get you started.  Don't forget the very basic things like, pen, paper, first aid kit, batteries, backup light source and a bag to keep all your equipment in. Good luck and happy hunting.
Stay tuned, I am going to be blogging about some "old fashion" ways to do an investigation WITHOUT all the modern day equipment.  Things you have right in your home.

UPDATE:  I am sooooo excited about starting my local paranormal group.  I've ordered T-Shirts(want to look professional, you know. lol), got handbooks and forms all ready to go.  It seems that more and more people are interested in joining.  I am going to send out personal invitations to join, so if anyone is interested please drop me an email(becksghosthunters@yahoo.com) and I will send you an invite for the first ever meet and greet of LAKE CITIES PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS(LCPI).  Isn't that a cool name...the PI is kinda like Private Investigators....in a way we are.lol  Hoping the group can meet at lease once a month to go do an investigation in North Texas or wherever someone may need us.  And you don't have to live in the Lake Cities area, but we will probably meet here locally before we head out to play in the dark.  So, if you are welling to drive to the Lake Dallas, Lewisville, Denton area once a month, let me know.  Looking forward to meeting everyone.
