Ok. Lets talk Orbs. The most common question I get is what is an "Orb" Lets say that the definition of an Orb is like the soul of a departed person. The soul being the essence of who they were in life, complete with their intelligence, their emotions and their personality.
Orbs have always been a part of the paranormal, even before the chase was on. Native Americans sometimes called them Tei Pai Wankas and believed seeing them was like coming upon dead relatives. The term Will-o-the-Wisp was used by Europeans later, but the idea was basically the same. Orbs were thought to be the spirits who had enough energy to be made partly whole and were mainly seen with the naked eye. Detractors saw them as either semi-explosive natural gases or the imagination.
Actually, 99 percent of orb pictures can be dismissed just by looking at the evidence. This means consider the conditions and the location first. Were you in a dusty location, were you outside right after a rain storm, was the wind blowing, where there bugs, where there others snapping pictures at the same time, and could it be a reflection of small lights of something in the room or camera? These are all questions you should ask yourself. Right? Because as a ghost hunter, you want to disprove these questions.
So, here's the deal. Check your pictures closely and if you can do not use the flash. It doesn't make for great pictures but it will help eliminate some flash issues of reflection. Because remember 99% of orb pictures can be explained, but as for that other 1%...hope your the one that grabs it!!
Feel free to tell me your opinion on orbs. Some believe they should not be considered at all in the paranormal, but what do you think?

I always have "orbs" near me in photos. Does this mean i have a spirit following me?
ReplyDeleteWell, without seeing the photos it is hard to tell. You have to look at the setting of where the picture was taken...outside where the wind could be blowing dust around, inside where there might be lot of people that could be stirring up the dust...things like that. But I have a friend of mine, and in almost every picture she takes of her son there is an orb above him. We feel it is his departed grandfather watching over him. If you start to notice that everytime or almost everytime that there is a really "bright" orb around you, then yes, you could have a spirit near. But do not be frightened over this, it could just mean you have a very special guardian angel. Hope this helped.
